The Bollywood teen icon launches her line of handbags
After #Salman Khan’s Being Human, #Hritik Roshan’s HRX, #Anushka Sharma’s Nush, #Karan Johar’s Marquee and Shraddha Kapoor’s Imara, its now the turn of #Alia Bhatt to come out with her own brand of exclusive handbags christened Caprese Alia. Stamped with her signature style, the handbags in this collection are inspired by Alia’s personal choice and the Mediterranean island of Capri, said a release.
Promising a mix of hi-fashion and functionality, the launch is in association with Caprese, a brand owned by VIP Industries, and introduced in the market in 2012.
The Caprese Alia range features a stunning range of totes, backpacks, satchels, hobos, laptop bags, sling bags and wallets. Functional features include laptop compatibility, multiple compartments, detachable and adjustable shoulder straps, zip pockets and more. The price starts from Rs 2,199 a piece, which is comparable to other popular handbag brands such as Hidesign, Lavie, Baggit, Lino Perros, Da Milano, Daphne, Peperone and others. Incidentally, Alia also owns a designer clothing range on Jabong.com, the online arm of Myntra.com, owned by one of the country’s most-valued classified marketplace Flipkart, which is in the process of being acquired by the world’s biggest retailer Walmart, under a whopping $16 billion deal.
The trend of lending their names to clothing and accessories kick-started about five-six years ago, with #Malaika Arora’s online store TheClosetLabel.com, #Lara Dutta’s designer sari collection Chhabra 555 and #Bipasha Basu’s Trunk Label. Waiting to join the league is #Sonam Kapoor with her clothing line Rheson!
But nothing can beat beefy hunk John Abraham lending his name to a premium prêt denim line Wrangler jeans in 2016, which was really a first for an Indian movie star.
